Lest We Forget
In case you were wondering, my recent euphoria over getting engaged and the subsequent indictment of Illinois Governor has not distracted me from my primary task of gathering information and intelligence that may be of use to you who read this blog. Here it is…
Not So Major Moves
- There are some changes taking place over at Marion County Democratic HQ. Terry Burns is leaving to head over to Voter Registration. He is taking the place of John Riordon who was fired December 2nd by the County party. Taking Burns’ place at County party is Adam Kirsch. If you’ve never heard of him, don’t feel bad. Few people have. His father however is Judge James Kirsch who is a good friend pf party chairman Ed Treacy. The first thing they may want to do is update the party’s website.
Who Wants to Be Mayor
- It’s no big secret former Deputy Mayor Mayor and County Prosecutor candidate Melina Kennedy wants to be Mayor. Well it looks like she’s going to have some competition. I hear local businessman Brian Williams of Hopwell Ventures, a private equity firm, is gearing up to run for the job.
Get the White Out
- Rumor has it that the people who run IPS have pointed their guns at John Marshall Middle School Principal Jefferey White. I’ve heard from a number of teachers at the school that IPS has sent in staff to gather negative information on White and build a case against him to dismiss him. Part of this results from a threatened lawsuit by a local civil rights organization against IPS for allegedly dismissing too many “problem” students. And so you know, White is one of the better principals in IPS.
And the Forecast Is…
- The State revenue forecast is out today. It’s ain’t looking good folks. Brace yourselves!
There’s even more good gossip out there. I’ll try to have it posted in the next few days.
